Snehesh Shrestha is postdoctoral researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) in the Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) lab, developing new standards, recommended practices, and metrics for robotics, human subject studies, and HRI. He is also an adjunct faculty at the Immersive Media Design (IMD) at the University of Maryland, teaching motion capture technologies and conducting studies on characterization of markerless motion capture techniques. His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence, human factors, robotics, music and arts, and human movement. He is passionate about multidisciplinary approaches creating rich intuitive experiences that amplify human abilities and empower individuals. He focuses on automating dull, dirty, and dangerous tasks while balancing transparency, understanding, and control for the user. Recently, his research has focused on AI for education, particularly music education, and human-AI interaction, and an emphasis on human-robot interaction.
