The “Machines and Me” film screening series aims to build a network of artists, filmmakers, students, scholars and community members to collaboratively examine how machines and our sense of self are mutually constitutive in an age of big data, networked media and artificial intelligence. This series seeks to reconsider the everyday use of auto-archiving, facilitated by both analog and digital technologies and to explore the evolving meanings of Chinese machines, media technology, labor and humanity.
This initiative is intended to launch in Spring 2025, beginning with small-scale educational screenings this semester as our testing ground, with details subject to change.
