Future Histories: New Acquisitions at The Driskell Center, showcases the diversity and depth of Black art through significant additions to The Driskell Center's collection since 2018. Many of these works will be displayed for the first time, offering a fresh perspective on Black art's past, present and future.

Open Ended Narratives: Mixed Media Assemblages on Wood by Schroeder Cherry is a solo exhibition of assemblage artwork by multidisciplinary artist Schroeder Cherry. Cherry uses mixed-media assemblage painting to create open-ended narratives inspired by travel, folklore and events, frequently drawing on stories of the African diaspora.

Founded in 1965, the University of Maryland Art Gallery traces its origins to a pivotal donation of over 100 exceptional prints and drawings by Martin W. Brown to the Department of Art in 1955. This collection, now the cornerstone of the Art Gallery’s holdings, has since expanded to include over 5,000 pieces.
