About the Event

Based out of San Francisco, guitarist Travis Andrews and percussionist Andy Meyerson perform as The Living Earth Show (TLES). They are the heart of one of the United States' premier contemporary chamber ensembles and manage TLES as a groundbreaking production company and uncompromisingly original record label. TLES collaborates with artists from around the globe on multidisciplinary programs that reflect and respond to our world through innovative chamber music that challenges, engages and inspires. Deemed “outstanding” (San Francisco Chronicle), “transcendent” (Charleston City Paper) and one of The Washington Post’s “22 performers to watch,” Andrews and Meyerson are at the forefront of American experimental instrumental music. For this evening of new work, TLES joins forces with the University of Maryland Wind Orchestra in composer Danny Clay’s Possible Paths to Play On , which features contributions from more than 100 community members.

Program

Led by Michael Votta, Jr., UMWO is a leader among collegiate ensembles in premiering new works for winds. This season’s engaging performances will feature faculty soloists, commissions and masterworks of the 20th and 21st centuries.
